This Terms and Conditions page outlines the policies and agreements for services provided by Ofelia Saba Ramírez, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) in California. By engaging in therapy services, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

Therapeutic Relationship

  • The therapeutic relationship is professional in nature and focused on addressing your mental health goals. Personal relationships outside the therapeutic context are not permitted to ensure ethical standards are maintained.

  • Progress in therapy depends on individual circumstances and commitment to the process. No guarantees can be made about specific outcomes.

Fees and Payment

  • The standard fee for therapy sessions is $160 per session unless otherwise agreed upon. Payment is due at the time of the session.

  • Accepted forms of payment include credit card, debit card, and HSA card.

  • Please note that I do not accept insurance. Clients are responsible for the full session fee.

Cancellation Policy

  • A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.

  • Missed appointments or late cancellations will incur a fee of $160, unless waived at the therapist’s discretion due to extenuating circumstances.

Confidentiality

  • All sessions are confidential in accordance with California law and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

  • Exceptions to confidentiality include, but are not limited to:

    • Threats of harm to self or others.

    • Suspected abuse or neglect of a minor, elder, or dependent adult.

    • Court orders requiring disclosure.

  • Any disclosure of information will be handled with care and in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.

Telehealth Services

  • Telehealth sessions are conducted using a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform to protect your privacy.

  • You are responsible for ensuring a private and secure location for your telehealth sessions.

Limits of Services

  • As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I practice under the supervision of a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California.

  • Therapy services are not a substitute for medical treatment, crisis intervention, or emergency services. If you are in crisis, please contact a local emergency service or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Termination of Therapy

  • You may terminate therapy at any time.

  • I may also terminate therapy if it is determined that services are no longer beneficial or appropriate. In such cases, referrals to other providers will be offered.

Contact Policy

  • Communication outside of sessions is limited to scheduling, billing, and brief check-ins.

  • Therapy-related discussions are reserved for scheduled sessions to ensure appropriate boundaries and continuity of care.

By engaging in therapy services with Ofelia Saba Ramírez, AMFT, you agree to these terms and conditions. These terms may be updated periodically, and you will be notified of any significant changes.
